Website Usability Guidelines

Website User Experience
Follow these usability recommendations:
- Standardize Task Sequences. Use the same format for all user functions across all pages.
- Reduce users workload. Let the computer perform as many functions as possible. This allows the user to concentrate on those functions requiring human input.
- Do not require user to remember information from place to place on a website. User can remember relatively few items of information for a relatively short period of time. The working memory capacity tends to lessen even more as people become older.
- Minimize page download time. The best way to facilitate fast page loading is to minimize the number of bytes per page. Pages must download less than 5 seconds, less time is preferred.
- Display data in a directly usable format. Most users will not convert information. Present information in a manner that is consistent with the standards most familiar to your target users.
